One of my resolutions for the year is to have a little arty project on the go all the time. Every now and then I want to reach for something...something tactile, and soothing, to keep my hands busy, and free my mind! These colourful pictures made me want to rifle through a wool shop and get some chunky knitting needles out! So knitting is first on my list. Other ideas include getting back into collaging, and making some more earrings!

Happy New Year! I have just discovered your blog and it's beautiful. Your sense of style is very refreshing and inspiring. I have a quetion if you wouldn't mind answering. I noticed that you purchased the Dog Eared Circle necklace. How is the quality? I'm thinking of buying one for myself but have never bought anything gold dipped before.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. Happy new year to you!
DeleteI loved the Dogeared circle necklace, sadly I didn't find the quality to be very good, and the charm actually broke off not long after I bought it. The style of the necklace was perfect, but I only want things in my life like that which are going to last.
I'm still looking for a suitable replacement!
Oooh this make me want to start cross stitching again, so soothing!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year lovely!

you know how to sew that's cool! i try to start doing stuff and be productive but i cant get off my laptop help :(
ReplyDeleteI was like that for a long time. I made myself have one night a week (at least) away from my computer. At first I felt disconnected, and even slightly deprived haha - I was always wondering what I was missing. But it turned out to be the best thing I ever did. I came back to blogging and other online sites feeling better for it, and I enjoyed it more.
DeleteHave one night a week for yourself - turn off your phone, paint your nails, make a cake, watch a movie with your best friend, whatever you like doing, and the internet will still be there tomorrow :)

Thank you so much for responding to my Dog Eared question! That's a shame about the quality. I think I'm going to try and stay away from all gold vermeil/ plated items. The most perfect jewellery I have ever seen is BRVTVS, but the company is based in New York. They do ship to the UK, but with customs and import duties on top of shipping it works out to be a bit too expensive.

No problem. Wow, what beautiful jewellery they have! It's always tricky when something has to be shipped that far. I haven't bought any brand new jewellery since that necklace, I just wait for interesting vintage pieces to present themselves!

Oh! I just read the About page on BRVTVS, how wonderful! Thanks for introducing me to this brand!
DeleteGood idea to always have an artistic project going on. I should do that too haha!
